Q: Is Hadley Rille gay?
A: It depends on whether you think a band can be gay. Hadley Rille is a one-person band and the one person is gay, so maybe.
Q: Are the songs autobiographical?
A: Sort of.
Q: Are the instruments digital?
A: Yes. Most of it was done in Garage Band. There's also a teeny tiny bit of Yamaha SY77.
Q: Why is HR9A so short? How can you call it an album?
A: It's as long as it needs to be. The length of albums used to be dictated by the capacity of the disc. Digital file transfer is more flexible. There's no need to pad an album with second-tier songs just to fill out an arbitrary time-span.
Q: Will there be a live tour?
|
|
Q: What is the origin of the band's name?
A: Hadley Rille is a deep, snake-shaped canyon on the moon, probably formed millions of years ago by a collapsing lava tube. It was visited in 1971 by David Scott and James Irwin, the landing crew of Apollo 15. No other humans have been there.
